Bowden Bedroom

Bowden bedroom & bathroom

My client was refreshing a much loved, but dated family home and brought me in to work on the master bedroom and bathroom.

The main goal in the bedroom was to create a clean, fresh, luxurious feel and bring the outside in through the use of wallpaper and colour choices.  We discussed the possibility of creating bespoke, quirky shelving to display books and treasures; and also to upcycle some existing furniture.

We used a wallpaper, with a delicate meadow silhouette design, by Hannah Nunn.

The bespoke shelving was built by Barrie Wilon Joinery.

An armchair, which had been in the family for two generations was reupholstered in a beautiful Abigail Edwards fabric, by Spring and Pin Upholstery.

Original floorboards were sanded and stained in a whitewash.

Rather than rip out the existing bathroom, my client was keen to retain as much as possible.  The inspiration for the colour scheme came from existing pink and grey tiles in the adjoining toilet.

The vanity unit was replaced with an IKEA unit.

Barrie Wilson Joinery created bespoke wood panelling, to echo other areas in the house.

The pink wall tiles were from Topps Tiles and the vinyl Floor tiles were a bold Neisha Crossland design by Harvey Maria.
